Mack Trucks Grows EV Certified Dealer Network
Greensboro, NC – Mack Trucks today announced that it has achieved a significant milestone with 12 new Certified Electric Vehicle (EV) dealer locations added to Mack’s network reaching a total of 65 EV-certified locations in North America. Mack now has certified EV dealer locations in 29 states and four Canadian provinces, marking a 23% increase in certified locations since May 2024. The certification enables dealerships to provide comprehensive sales and service support for Mack’s growing electric vehicle lineup, including the Mack® LR Electric Class 8 refuse truck and the Mack MD Electric medium-duty vehicle.
“The continued expansion of our certified EV dealership network demonstrates our commitment, and our dealers’ commitment, to a sustainable future,” said Jonathan Randall, president of Mack Trucks North America. “Together with our Mack dealers, we help make this possible by offering customers support from the purchase of the vehicle, seeking of incentives, infrastructure readiness and training to help them better acclimate to the new technology and to further the adoption of EV vehicles.”

Achieving EV certification requires significant dealer investment in infrastructure and expertise. Dealers must complete comprehensive technical training programs, upgrade facilities with high-capacity charging infrastructure and maintain specialized safety protocols. Many certified locations have also established dedicated EV support teams to assist customers with route planning, charging strategies and accessing available incentives.
The Mack LR Electric refuse truck, with its 376 kWh battery capacity and 4,051 lb.-ft. of peak torque, has demonstrated its capability in demanding applications. The vehicle is distinguished by its copper-colored Bulldog hood ornament, signifying its fully electric drivetrain powered by four NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt Oxide) lithium-ion batteries. These batteries are charged through a 150kW SAEJ1772-compliant charging system, which powers both the vehicle propulsion and all onboard accessories through integrated 12V, 24V, and 600V circuits. The truck’s two-stage regenerative braking system maximizes energy efficiency by recapturing power during frequent stops, particularly beneficial as the payload increases throughout collection routes.
The Mack MD Electric, available in both Class 6 and Class 7 configurations, continues to gain traction in urban delivery applications. The vehicle’s flexible battery options (150kWh or 240kWh) and exempt status from the 12% Federal Excise Tax make it an attractive option for fleet operators looking to electrify their operations.
To support the transition to electric vehicles, Mack offers comprehensive financing solutions through Mack Financial Services, including:
- The innovative ElectriFi Subscription program for MD Electric models
- Bundled payments covering vehicles, charging infrastructure and maintenance
- The Ultra Service Agreement, standard with LR Electric models, providing complete vehicle support
