Net Loss of $8.14 Million for Pam Transport in Q1 2025

Tontitown-based freight carrier Pam Transport reported a net loss of $8.14 million, or 37 cents per share, for the first quarter of 2025, marking a reversal from last year’s net income of $281,000. Revenue declined 14.9% year-over-year, dropping to $155.34 million from $182.59 million.

This is the second consecutive quarter without a statement from President and CEO Joe Vitiritto, who usually provides commentary on earnings results.

In its logistics division, revenue fell sharply by 24.66% to $44.27 million, with the operating ratio worsening to 98% from 93.9%. The truckload segment also saw increased costs, with an operating ratio of 110.9% compared to 104.2% last year, alongside a decrease in revenue per mile to $2.04 from $2.11 and a reduction in total loads to 94,644 from 102,200. The fleet size also contracted, with company-driver trucks decreasing to 1,667 from 1,895, while owner-operator trucks rose to 514 from 365.

Shares closed at $13.76 on April 24, down 16 cents, and have traded within a 52-week range of $11.01 to $23.70.

Looking ahead, the company continues to face a challenging environment. Its focus remains on operational efficiency and cost management as it navigates ongoing industry pressures and economic uncertainties.
