DHL Halts U.S.-Bound B2C Shipments Over $800 Due to Customs Changes

DHL has announced a temporary suspension of business-to-consumer (B2C) shipments valued over $800 to the U.S., effective Monday. This decision is in response to increased delays caused by new customs regulations.
The suspension, communicated to customers via email, will last until further notice. Business-to-business (B2B) shipments and those under $800 will not be affected.
The new U.S. trade rules, effective April 5, require formal customs processing for shipments over $800, down from $2,500. DHL noted that this change has led to significant delays in processing and transit times for affected shipments.
DHL’s action reflects a broader trend among logistics companies adapting to ongoing trade tensions, particularly between the U.S. and China. Competitors like FedEx and UPS have also implemented fees, while Hong Kong’s postal service plans to halt all U.S.-bound shipments by April 27.
