In a highly anticipated reveal, North America’s latest zero-emissions commercial truck brand, ZM Trucks, debuted at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Las Vegas. As a subsidiary of the renowned ZO Motors from Tokyo, ZM Trucks is set to unveil five cutting-edge models in the Class 4, 5, 6, and “baby8” segments, with an official market release slated for late 2024. These vehicles promise to offer total-cost-of-ownership (TCO) price parity with traditional diesel trucks, marking a significant milestone in the commercial trucking industry.
A New Era in Zero-Emission Trucks
The new line of ZM Trucks includes the ZM4, ZM8, ZMx FCEV, and ZM22, each tailored to meet local market needs. Manufactured in North America and adhering to all regional regulations, these models leverage platforms that have accumulated millions of real-world driving miles. This ensures that each truck is not only zero-emission but also purpose-built and reliable, offering significant TCO advantages over traditional diesel counterparts.

ZM Trucks are designed for cost-efficient charging, featuring powerful 20 kW AC charging solutions and standard DC charging options. A 220v/100a circuit allows for overnight charging, making battery electric vehicle (BEV) operation hassle-free. The trucks boast clean back-of-cab and chassis rails, facilitating easy and efficient upfits. Dual electric Power Takeoffs (ePTOs) are available on all cab/chassis platforms, ready to tackle various work truck challenges.
To further support customers, ZM Trucks offers comprehensive assistance with accessing state incentives and managing ongoing reporting requirements, ensuring maximum retention of funds during the transition to zero-emission solutions. Beyond vehicle sales, ZM Trucks provides complete transportation solutions, including service, diagnostics, parts support, and a cloud-based fleet management system aimed at optimizing driver performance and route efficiency, ultimately reducing cost-per-mile.
